Home Page

Location : Burton Bradstock. Inferior Oolite - Jurassic. 135 - 200 myo. Species - Holectypus Depressus ? (£20) ( Update courtesy of Martin Vine 5th October 2003 - "The Holectypus depressus is probably H. hemisphaerious as it is very common throughout the levels at Burton and is smaller than depressus but much taller with a very clear dome shape unlike depressus which is very flat")
Location : Beachy Head. Chalk - Upper Cretaceous. 65 - 135 myo. Species - Micraster Cortestudinarium ? One of the most beautifully preserved fossils that I have ever found. SOLD
Location : Burton Bradstock. Inferior Oolite - Jurassic. 135 - 200 myo. Species - Various ? Collection of rather non-descript Echinoids. Might include Nucleolites Clunicularis. (£10 (all five)) (Update courtesy of Martin Vine 5th October 2003 - "If we say they form a cross in the photo the one you think is N. clunicularis is at the top, it is possibly Hyboclypus gibbirulus. the left arm of the cross is Holectypus hemisphaerious and the one next to it (upside down) is also. The right side of the cross is possibly Collyrities ovals and the bottom one is Pygorities ringens.")
Location : Burton Bradstock. Inferior Oolite - Jurassic. 135 - 200 myo. Species - Stomechinus Bigranularis ? (£20)
Location - Ardley. Transition Layer Greater Oolite / Oxford Clay - Middle / Upper Jurassic. 135 - 200 myo. Species - Similar to Hemicidaris Intermedia ? However, I have seen some of these in text books labeled as undescribed. (£25 (for both)) (Update courtesy of Martin Vine 5th October 2003 - "Your Hemicidaris intermedia is much too old to be intermedia as that comes from the top of the Oxfordian (the Corallian Beds) 157.1 - 154.7 ma. Good ones are truly beautiful. I would not like to hazard a guess as to its species as I am unfamiliar with the locality but would be very surprised if it is H. intermedia.")
